Cadence Rods

Cadence Rods

Our full range covers the most popular sizes and actions of double-handed rods required by salmon and trout anglers.  Interchangeable sections for each rod size provides us with the ability to change the action of the rod to suit,
not only the casting technique but fishing applications of the individual fisherman,
because as we know, one size doesn’t fit all.

Our high-quality blanks are constructed from the highest quality contemporary carbon technology and materials,
ensuring rods are lightweight, slim, and strong.

The bespoke nature of the rods includes a choice of handles, with all rods being offered in traditional cork
or a slim, traditional style EVA handle.

We offer various rod packaging options such as a Cordura tube, leather tube through to
a bespoke fitted case. We use of the highest quality materials and components including AAA cork, Fuji guides,
Alps reel seats - the finish is simply stunning!

Cadence Lines

Cadence Ian Gordon Fly Lines have been developed to complement our new range of Cadence Ian Gordon Fly Rods. They come in 4 weights of shooting head from #7 through to #10 and Speylines of the same weight.

We also have a range of lines designed for our small Microspey rods. Those run from 3/4 through to 8/9 and are the most fun to fish and catch fish with.

Cadence Line Match for Cadence Rods

Colour Coding

12’6” Cadence Rods

12’6” Full Flex - Suggested Cadence Line Colour  Red

Good for mid Stroke but heavy for Underhand. The Red Microspey line will be the perfect match for this set up. https://www.cadencefishing.co.uk/product/ian-gordon-micro-spey-fly-line-6-7/

12’6” Standard Rod - Suggested Cadence Line Colour White

For underhand technique the white line is good, people with normal techniques need orange. This applies to all rod. Shooting heads could be longer for joe blogs. White Microspey for this one https://www.cadencefishing.co.uk/product/ian-gordon-micro-spey-fly-line-7-8/

12’6” Stiff set up – Suggested Cadence Line Colour Orange works well when fishing small rivers and with a more traditional upper hand dominant technique

Our orange 36foot Microspey line with its built-in running line is a perfect match for this rod. https://www.cadencefishing.co.uk/product/ian-gordon-micro-spey-fly-line-8-9/

13’6” Cadence Rods

13’6” Full Flex - Suggested Cadence Line Colour White https://www.cadencefishing.co.uk/product/ian-gordon-spey-line-7f/

7/8 White Cadence Spey line was perfect on this set up. The white shooting head suited a more traditional Spey technique of upper hand dominant when fished on this set up. The White or Orange Cadence Microspey lines will work very well on this set up.

13’6” Standard Rod - Suggested Cadence Line Colour Orange

Orange Spey line was a good match, performing well on this rod. https://www.cadencefishing.co.uk/product/ian-gordon-spey-line-8f/ Especially for those favouring a sharper more underhand technique. The orange shooting head suited a more traditional Spey technique of upper hand dominant when fished on this set up.https://www.cadencefishing.co.uk/product/ian-gordon-shooting-head-line-8f/

13’6” Stiffer Rod- Suggested Cadence Line Colour Blue

Good with the Cadence Spey Line. Long stroke was effortless. Good turnover and line speed. https://www.cadencefishing.co.uk/product/ian-gordon-spey-line-9f/

14’6” Cadence Rods

14’6” Full Flex – Suggested Cadence Line Colour  Orange

https://www.cadencefishing.co.uk/product/ian-gordon-spey-line-8f/ Nice with a Spey Line. Cadence worked well

The SH short worked well on this with the tip + 6’ would be ideal. The Cadence SH also performed well on this.

14’6” Standard – Suggested Cadence Line Colour  Blue Line

This set up works well for people with a  true underhand cast https://www.cadencefishing.co.uk/product/ian-gordon-shooting-head-line-9f/

14’6” Stiff – Suggested Cadence Line Colour  Green LIne

The stiffer action suits a shorter Spey Line better than the long. The long stroke required to load the rod evenly required a better technique to achieve a good result.

15’ Cadence Rods

15’ Rod Full Flex – Suggested Cadence Line Colour Blue Line https://www.cadencefishing.co.uk/product/ian-gordon-spey-line-9f/

A light Speyline worked well on this set up. A great summer rod set up

15’ Standard Rod – Suggested Cadence Line Colour Green LIne

E.G https://www.cadencefishing.co.uk/product/ian-gordon-shooting-head-line-10f/

Longer Spey line worked well on this set up.

15’ Stiff Section – Suggested Cadence Line Colour Grey Line

The shooting heads and Short head Skagit Lines

The pursuit of perfection

Cadence - The rhythmic flow in music and achieving  consistent repetition
within any cycle of movement.
